Sam Raimi's long-awaited return to horror was greeting with lackluster ticket sales this weekend, bringing in only $16.6 million. To put that in perspective, on this same weekend last year The Strangers managed to make $21 million without any huge stars or a big name director.
A disappointing showing considering the heavy advance praise from critics and the gigantic marketing budget.
